Veronica Shanklin

Family caregiver / Dementia Care Warriors

Veronica Shanklin’s caregiving journey began when she left her career as a Marketing Director in Chicago to care for her mother and grandmother, both diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. After 10 years of caregiving, she founded Dementia Care Warriors to address the gap in resources for caregivers in underserved communities.

As a dedicated advocate, Veronica has served on several boards and has been a vocal presence at the Alzheimer’s Association Advocacy Forum in Washington, D.C. From community events to the national stage, she is committed to advocating for caregivers at every level. Her personal caregiving story has been featured in media outlets like O Magazine, Ebony Magazine, and the Dallas Morning News. Through Dementia Care Warriors, Veronica ensures caregivers can access the support they need.
