My name is Bonifacio Vega II, and I am the Director of Southwest Border AHEC. I grew up in Robstown, Texas, and have spent most of my life living and working in the Corpus Christi area. I currently hold a bachelor’s degree in health science and a master’s in public administration from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. I am also certified as a Community Health Worker (CHW) and Community Health Worker Instructor (CHW-I). My previous work experience includes serving as CME Administrator and Program Coordinator for the South Coastal Area Health Education Center, which taught me the importance of effective management and leadership, the value of networking and collaboration, as well as the tremendous impact that a strong and dedicated team can have on improving the lives of others. I enjoy working with communities of all types and sizes, but my biggest passion lies in improving the health outcomes of marginalized and at-risk populations. I look forward to leveraging my skills, collaborating with inspiring individuals, and contributing to meaningful projects.
